Highland Park Care Center holds first ever coat drive The residents council wanted to give the coats to those in need

As we all know Nebraska winters can be cold, especially without a heavy coat, so one care center is trying to make sure everyone stays warm.

The Highland Park Care Center resident council in Alliance is holding a coat drive.

People can donate coats at the care center, and they will then be taken to the RSVP Senior Center off of Yellowstone Avenue, where they can be picked up for no cost.

The residents council say they hope the drive helps out the community during the holidays.

“We figured there’s a lot of people that can’t afford them and we don’t want to see anybody be cold,” says president of the council Sam Crouse. “Or for Christmas, they might want to give their kids a coat, if they can’t afford it, this should help.”

This is the first time the residents council has held a coat drive, and they said they’ll be collecting coats for as long as people want to donate them.
